Here’s my new patch upgrade for Ryan Suzuki (@ryansuzuki6
1. Ryan is a smooth skating, Japanese Canadian center from London, Ontario. He is the younger brother of @canadiensmtl star, @nsuzuki_37. Be sure to read my post about Nick for cool facts on their relation to David Suzuki and their first @ohlofficial game facing each other!
2. Ryan was selected first overall by the @barriecoltshockeyohl in the 2017 draft. He went on to light up the “O” the following 2 seasons with 119 points in 129 games.
3. He was drafted 28th overall by the @canes in the 2019 @nhl Entry Draft. While serving as an assistant captain to the Colts in November 2019, Ryan took an errant stick to the face, tore his retina, and suffered serious eye damage. He was left with 20/100 vision in his eye.
4. Ryan rehabilitated and persevered through this injury to return two months later and finish off the 2019-2020 season with the @saginawspirit scoring 58 points in 44 games.
5. Ryan topped off his junior career by capturing a Silver medal with Team Canada in the 2020 @iihfhockey World Junior Championships and has been playing for the @theahl @chicagowolves. Ryan has shown that he can overcome adversity in the form of a serious eye injury and continue to play at the highest levels of hockey. This courage and commitment will undoubtedly lead his way to stardom.
