Ajay Baines @bainesaj

1. Ajay was an Indo Canadian forward from Kamloops that mixed scoring with toughness. In an interview, despite being one of the few Indian players at the time, Ajay asserted that he never encountered any race issues when on the ice. 

2. He played 4 seasons from 1995-99 in his hometown for the @blazerhockey, where he captained the team for 3 seasons and put up a respectable 242 points in 282 games. 

3. While undrafted, he began his pro career in the @echlhockey with the Greenville Grrrowl. He played 6 seasons for the @norfolkadmirals beginning in 2000, where he quickly became a fan favorite, captained the team for 5 seasons, and scored 175 points. 

4. In 2006, Ajay was traded to the Hamilton Bulldogs, where he served as an assistant captain and won a Calder Cup. Ajay had a few looks at the @canadiensmtl training camp but did not get called up. He played two more seasons in the @theahl before retiring in 2009, where he captained both the Bulldogs and Iowa Chops. 

5. Ajay wore #32 throughout his career, which was influenced by his admiration for @shaq. He is now a realtor back in Kamloops.
