Here’s another former post that deserved a revamp, and it’s only fitting it’s on a Sunday for this man of God, Bobby Robins @bobbyrobinspro -
1. Bobby was a Filipino American hockey player from Peshtigo, Wisconsin. He started playing hockey at 5 and excelled in several sports as a youth, including baseball.
2. He was known as a gritty, tough enforcer. After a season in the @ushl with the @tricitystorm (where he scored 30 points and racked up 176 PIMs in 60 games), he played 4 years at @riverhawkhockey. Over his 127-game @ncaaicehockey career, he scored 69 points and 253 PIMs; he also served as the captain his senior year.
3. Bobby went pro in 2006 and played for several teams over his storied 9-year career, including the Binghamton Senators and @bakersfieldcondors. He was an all-time fan favorite of the @ahlbruins, and he led the team in penalty minutes in 2012-13 with a whopping 316 in 74 games.
4. He played his first @nhl game at the age of 32 (Opening Day for the @nhlbruins in the 2014-2015 season).
5. Bobby retired from hockey after concussion issues in 2015. After overcoming drug addiction and suicide ideation, Bobby now works for a ministry serving Christian athletes while also being a loving and caring father.
