Chikara Hanzawa @chikyhanzawa_42  - 

1. “Chiky” is a highly skilled and explosive winger from Tokyo, Japan. His father, Jun, enjoyed a 10-year pro hockey career in Japan. 

2. After winning a D1B World Junior Championship Bronze medal for Japan, Chikara went to Sweden for juniors. Suiting up for the @faluif_junior U-18 team, he racked up 35 points in 30 games. He also played for the U-20 team, where he scored 13 points in 19 games. Lastly, he had a taste of Division 2 pro, scoring 2 goals in 3 games. 

3. That same season, he served as an assistant captain for Japan’s U-18 team and led them to a D1B Gold medal while also capturing Top Forward honors (5 points in 5 games). 

4. In 2019-20, Chiky moved to North America to play for the @ushl @tricitystorm and the @mnwilderness of the USHL. He also suited up for Japan’s U-20 team, where he led the tourney in goals with 7, was named Top Forward again, and won a D2A Gold medal. 

5. Over the past two seasons, he has played for the NCDC’s @ssk_hockey, tallying 61 points in 53 career games. He is currently committed to @sacredheartuniversity for the 2022-23 season.
