What am I thankful for on Thanksgiving? I’m thankful for all of my followers who have supported this account, which was started in March but has quickly grown. I’m thankful that there continues to be a shared interest in the subject and recognition of players who do not get recognized enough and whose stories aren’t known. I’m especially thankful towards the players who let me share their stories, and guys like @deanyakura (🇯🇵🇨🇦…be sure to read my prior post on this well-traveled warrior, who is one of the nicest guys in DMs!) who do not hesitate in signing my cards and sending a little note of appreciation. While it’s likely a small gesture, it means the world to me. Thank you all!

Prior bio: Dean Yakura @deanyakura  - 

1. Dean is a Japanese Canadian veteran forward who brings leadership to his team and leaves it all on the ice. He is from West Vancouver. 

2. He started skating at 4 and idolized @canucks legends Pavel Bure and Trevor Linden. 

3. He played 4 years at @aicadmissions, where he was on the All Academic team all 4 years, was class valedictorian, and graduated with a degree in Business Administration focusing on Marketing. 

4. He went on to play for 10 different professional teams over 11 seasons, including the @h.c.tochigi_nikko_icebucks in the Asia League. He was also the captain for the @danburytitansofficial and the @qcstorm. 5. Dean last played for the @huntsvillehavoc in the @thesphl in 2020-2021.
