Asian Hockey Card Collection

Here’s another TTM (through the mail) upgrade. As an @lakings fan, I’ve followed the Imoos for years. This is goalie legend, Dusty Imoo @dustyimoo70 -

1. Dusty was a Japanese Canadian goaltender born in New Westminster, BC.

2. From 1987-91, he played 4 solid seasons in the @westernhockeyleague, suiting up for his hometown New Westminster Bruins, @whlhurricanes, and the @reginapatshockey.

3. After juniors, he played one season in the Coast (@echlhockey) for the @cincycyclones, Erie Panthers, and Dayton Bombers, as well as in the IHL for the @fwkomets.

4. He then relocated to Japan, where he enjoyed 12 successful seasons in the Japan Ice Hockey League and the Asia League, capturing 3 league championships with the Seibu Bears. Dusty also represented Team Japan in the 1998 @olympics.

5. Lauded for his mastery of technique and the mental aspect of goaltending, coaching was a natural fit for Dusty after he retired from playing. He has served as a goalie/development coach with the @surreyeagles, @seattlethunderbirds, @stjohnsicecaps, @lakings, and even in China with the @krschina. Dusty has been lauded for his tremendous success in developing goalie prospects, such as goalie stud @1jackcampbell, who credits Dusty for the transformation of his career.

6.Dusty is a renowned expert of the goaltending trade, and here’s hoping he will get another well-deserved shot to develop goalies in the professional leagues. Tomorrow, I’ll post about @jonahimoo, and the time the father/son duo made hockey history.

Lastly, thank you, Dusty, for the crisp autograph and the kind note. You are a respected legend of the game and one of hockey’s good guys!
