On Canada Day, we have a proud Canadian who serves his community, is a pretty cool guy, and is a devoted follower of this account, JK Gill @_jkgill - 

1. JK was a big, Indo Canadian winger who was born in Etobicoke but raised in Brampton, Ontario. He started playing hockey at the age of 5 when he saw a booth for hockey camps while signing up for an indoor soccer league. 

2. JK admired the explosiveness of Pavel Bure and tried to pattern his game after the Russian Rocket. In 2005-06, JK lit up the @gthlhockey playing for the @donmillsflyers U-16 AAA scoring 88 points in 65 games. 

3. This paved the way to JK being drafted 51st overall in the 2006 @ohl_hockey Draft by the @sudburywolvesohl. JK went on to play 3 seasons for the Wolves, racking up 44 points over that time. 

4. JK then played 2 seasons at @yorkuniversity, where he scored 31 points in 53 games. 

5. After retiring from ice hockey in 2011, JK continued to play ball hockey and is heralded as a top Ontario player of the sport. He is active with @apnahockey and is a successful realtor while also serving as a police constable in Brampton.
