Today’s post features Part I of the Soquila brothers, Jordan Soquila @jordansoquila -
1. “Iggy” was a hard working, two-way Filipino Canadian right winger from Maple Ridge, BC. He has a younger brother, @rsoquila, who also played high level hockey.
2. Jordan’s junior career began in the @thepjhl with the @ridgemeadowsflames in 2006-07, where he recorded 48 points in 45 games. His success led to a 5-game call-up to the @bchockeyleague with the Burnaby Express.
3. He went on to play 3 full seasons in the BCHL with the Express and the @bchlcentennials. He enjoyed his best season in 2009-10, where he captained the Cents to their first playoff berth with 45 points in 54 games. He finished his BCHL career with 86 points in 177 games.
4. After receiving an RBC scholarship for his academic success and community service in juniors, Jordan attended @queensuniversity. He played college hockey for 4 seasons, notching 46 points in 108 games, while winning 3 Carr-Harris Cups. He graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
5. Jordan has since returned to Vancouver, where he is employed as a geotechnical engineer and is raising his young family.
