Posted two cards here because the KHL ones are pretty cool. Mikael Tam @miktam52 - 

1. Born in Quebec. His mother is French Canadian and his father is 3/4 Chinese from Mozambique. 

2. His family owned two Chinese restaurants in Quebec City. 

3. When he played in the QMJHL, Tam made international headlines when he was the victim of a vicious headshot by Patrice Cormier, which resulted in broken teeth and severe brain trauma. Cormier was suspended for 20 games + playoffs and criminally charged for the hit. 

4. This incident was one of a few that convinced the NHL rule to implement stiff penalties for blindside shots to the head. 

5. Tam played several years in the minors before joining the @krschina organization for three years as a Chinese heritage player, with the goal of representing China in the 2022 Olympics. Tam has since returned to North America and last played for the @rapidcityrush.
