Asian Hockey Card Collection

Mike Wong (sorry I don’t believe an official hockey card exists for him, but I couldn’t pass up buying his autographed card) - 


1. Mike was a part Chinese and part Native American power forward from Minneapolis. 


2. Mike played in the first World Junior Championship tournament in 1974 on Team USA. 


3. He then became the first player of Chinese descent to be drafted by an @nhl team, the @detroitredwings, when he was taken 77th overall in 1975. 


4. He is a former Golden Gloves boxing champion. 


5. He played 22 games for the Red Wings in the 1975-1976 season, scoring a goal and an assist. He played a couple more seasons in the minors before returning to Minnesota and retiring from professional hockey in 1979.
