Here’s a slabbed upgrade for @nsuzuki_37. This rare beauty of a card from @upperdecksports commemorates his first @nhl goal on October 17, 2019. Nick continues to impress as the star center for @canadiensmtl. I still remember some of the 2017 draft forecasts pegged Nick as going 11th to the @lakings, and I was bummed he ended up going two spots later to the @vegasgoldenknights. -
1. Nick is a Japanese Canadian center from London, Ontario.
2. His younger brother, Ryan (@ryansuzuki6), is a @canes prospect, and they are distant relatives of the famed environmentalist, David Suzuki.
3. In their first junior game facing each other, they had several family members in attendance, and Nick slashed Ryan on the shin in jest as they skated to the bench; Nick was called for slashing on the play.
4. Praised for his hockey IQ and often compared to Patrick Kane, Nick had an exceptional @ohlofficial career capturing 14 awards and winning league MVP honors in leading his team, the @guelph_storm_ohl, to the 2019 Memorial Cup Finals.
5. After being traded from the Knights to the Habs, Nick has been a fixture in the Habs’ lineup and quickly becoming the star he was projected as. Let’s hope he continues his trajectory to superstardom!
Thanks to my buddy @clipscardfan for getting this graded by @sgcgrading!
