Today’s upgrade features @paytonmatsui (🇯🇵🇺🇸), a Minnesota native who was kind enough to send me this autographed card. Be sure to read my prior post on how Payton torched the @nahlhockey with the @aberdeenwingsnahl and captured Forward of the Year honors. He was also teammates with @jackson.yee.16, who was previously featured and also sent me a signed card! I wish Payton the best and will be following his hockey career, as he begin the next chapter with the @uaf_2025!

Prior bio: Payton Matsui @paytonmatsui - 

1. Payton is an ultra competitive Japanese American forward who plays with an edge. He was born in Lakeville, Minnesota, and grew up playing minor hockey in his home state. 

2. His junior career started in the @ushl in 2018-19 with the Central Illinois Flying Aces, where he recorded 2 goals in 13 games. 

3. Later that season, he transferred to the @bchockeyleague to suit up for the @bchlcentennials. In his first season, he tallied 17 points in 35 games. The following season, he served as an assistant captain for the Centennials and notched 44 points in 58 games. 

4. Payton caught 🔥 in 2020-2021 playing in the @nahlhockey for the @theofficialaberdeenwings. He led the league in scoring with 65 points in 56 games and was named the NAHL Forward of the Year. 

5. Payton is committed to play for the @uaf_2025 this season. In 2 @ncaaicehockey games, he has recorded an assist.
