Takahito Suzuki @takahito18 - 


1. Takahito was a Japanese right winger from Hokkaido. He grew up near an ice rink and would play hockey there with his older brothers. 


2. After winning two Japanese Ice Hockey League championships with Kokudo and two Gold medals in the World Championships, he came to North America to play for the @checkershockey in 2003. 


3. Takahito was the third Japanese player to play in the @echlhockey (after Hiroyuki Miura and Hideji Tsujida preceded him in the 90s) but he was the first player to score a goal and record a point. In 2002-2003, he scored 49 points in 72 games and played in the ECHL All-Star Game. 


4. After one season in North America, he returned to Japan, where Tak played professionally for an additional 10 years, winning another JIHL Championship and 5 Bronze World Championship medals. 


5. After retirement, he served as a coach for the Japanese National team from 2013-2017.
