I’m sharing a midweek upgrade of a limited edition @upperdecksports Canvas card I saw on IG that was too eye catching to pass up. I had to go with the red ink (as opposed to blue) for this slabbed beauty. The card depicts Taro Hirose (@tarohirose 🇯🇵🇨🇦), a playmaking winger and @detroitredwings prospect who is lighting up the @theahl for the @griffinshockey with 13 points in 11 games this season. Prior bio: Taro Hirose @tarohirose - 

1. Taro is a Japanese Canadian forward from Calgary whose favorite player is Johnny Gaudreau. He is the older brother of @kithirosee, who was featured on this account before. 

2. He was an offensive force playing 3 seasons with @edgeschoolhockey, scoring 163 points in 109 games. 

3. He transitioned to the @bchockeyleague, where he played 2 seasons for the @sasilverbacks, leading the team in scoring both seasons and serving as an assistant captain the second season. 

4. Taro went on to star for @msu_hockey for 3 years, where he scored 116 points in 106 games. In 2018-2019, he led the @ncaaicehockey in scoring while serving as an assistant captain for the team and being nominated as a Hobey Baker finalist. 

5. In March 2019, the @detroitredwings signed Taro, and he assisted on a goal in his first game on March 19. He has split time between the Wings and @griffinshockey as he continues to develop as a prospect.
