Asian Hockey Card Collection

Yoshihiro Kuroiwa @yoshihiro1009 - 


1. Yosh is a Japanese goalie from Sapporo. His father is a Buddhist monk and his mother is a kindergarten teacher. He began playing hockey at 6 as a forward, and he converted to goalie when he was in the 2nd grade. 


2. He relocated to the U.S. as a teen to pursue his hockey dreams and played AAA hockey for the Motor City Metal Jackets and @honeybakedhc from 2010-11. 


3. After a year in Canada playing for PEAC (be sure to check out Yosh’s account, as he posts a photo of himself with a 15-year old classmate, @mcdavid97, at school), Yosh returned to the U.S. to play a couple seasons for the @rvagenerals and the @letsgojacks. While with the Generals, Yosh had the best GAA and save percentage in the MetJHL. 


4. Yosh has played pro in Europe for the past 6 seasons in Latvia (Tukums and Prizma Riga), the Ukraine (Kiev Generals), and Finland (S-Kiekko and AIK/Laser HT). He also spent the 2018-19 season playing for Gangwon High1 of the Asia League in Korea. In 2015, he was a camp invite for the @theahl @hartford_wolfpack. 


5. He is currently rostered with the @yokohama_grits as an assistant captain.
