Came across some pretty cool and rare Japanese cards to add to my collection. I’m stoked to get to share them over the coming weeks. The first features the Toko sisters!

Ayaka Toko @tokoayaka  - 

1. Ayaka is a smooth skating, offensive defender from Hokkaido and the older of the sisters. 

2. Their father was professional hockey player, Yasunori Toko. 

3. She has starred in international play, having led Team Japan to two Gold medals in the D1 World Championships and capturing best defender awards in both tournaments (2013 and 2017). 

4. In the 2014 Olympics, she scored 2 goals for Team Japan as a 19-year old, one of which tied the game in a 2-1 loss to Russia. This was also Japan’s first women’s hockey team to compete in the Olympics since 1998. 

5. Ayaka is playing professionally for the @seibuprincessrabbits, and she’s a fixture on Japan’s World Championships team.
