1. Jiei is a smooth skating, puck moving Japanese defenseman from Tokyo. His father is originally from Toronto and introduced Jiei to both the game and the English language.
2. After graduating from @saitamasakae_junior_prac, Jiei represented Japan’s U-18 team in the @iihfhockey D1B World Junior Championships in 2014, where he tallied two helpers over 5 games while serving as an alternate captain. The following year, he represented Team Japan in the U-20 D1B tournament, where he recorded another assist in 5 games.
3. Jiei then took his game to North America, where he was signed by the @bismarckbobcats of the @nahlhockey. In the 2016-17 season, he finished second in team defensive scoring with 23 points in 53 games.
4. Jiei returned to Japan in 2019, where he played pro for the @redeagleshokkaido, scoring 2 points in 29 games.
5. This past year, Jiei captured his first international hardware by winning a Silver medal in the D1B World Championships, where he was the only Japanese defenseman to score a goal in the 5 games of the tournament.
