Here’s another guy I’m excited to post about, as I’ve been eagerly waiting for a card of his since his college days. Jordan Kawaguchi @jordankawaguchi29 -
1. “Guchi” is a strong, hard working, two-way Japanese Canadian center who has an amazing nose for the net. He hails from Abbotsford, BC, and is a cousin of former NHLer Devin Setoguchi (@f45_training_willowgleneast) who I’ve previously posted about several times.
2. Jordan’s junior career took off in the @bchockeyleague with the @chwkchiefs. After a solid rookie season in 2013-14 (scoring 18 points in 49 games), he found his game the next season serving as an alternate captain and notching 56 points in 53 games.
3. Jordan then finished off his final two junior seasons as the Chiefs’ captain and leading his team in scoring (83 points in 56 games and then 85 points in 55 games). He also led the league in playoff goals (18), assists (25), and points (43) in 2016-17.
4. Jordan went on to play 4 years at @undmhockey, tallying 126 points in 136 @ncaaicehockey games. In his junior season, he was the alternate captain and named a finalist for the esteemed Hobey Baker Award. In his senior season, he captained the team, led the Fighting Hawks in scoring, and captured an NCHC championship. He also graduated with a Bachelors degree in Marketing.
5. After college, Jordan signed with the @txstarshockey. In his 2021-22 rookie season, he tallied 23 points in 49 @theahl games. Based on his junior and college track records, Jordan will undoubtedly be a valued leader and scoring force in pro hockey once he adjusts to the elevated game.
