Part 2 of the Fujimoto sisters! Nachi Fujimoto @57_nachi -
1. Hailing from Sapporo, Nachi is a Japanese defender and the younger sister of @nanafujimoto33.
2. As mentioned in Nana’s post, their father taught them to play hockey because he was not allowed to play as a child. While he taught Nana to play goal (a position he played as an adult), he hired a private coach to teach Nachi the defensive game.
3. Nachi first represented Team Japan in the World Championships as a 17-year old in 2008, where she was teammates with Nana. The following year, she represented her country in the D1A World Junior Championships, where she led the team to a Gold medal, as well as led all defenders in assists, points and plus minus.
4. Nachi subsequently signed with the CWHL, where she played with the Boston Blades and Montreal Canadiennes over the course of two seasons.
5. Nachi has played the last two seasons in Sweden with @farjestadbkdam. In the 2018-2019 season, she scored 14 points in 15 games and was named the team’s MVP. In 2019, Nana joined the team to play with her sister.
On her 30th birthday this month, Nachi announced she is retiring from hockey and will begin coaching. I wish her the best in her future endeavors!
