I haven’t had an opportunity to post an upgrade, but I’m excited about this one! Zhixin Liu (@liuzhixin6 🇨🇳), affectionately known by teammates as “Big Liu,” has been a loyal follower of the account. Be sure to read my prior post on her distinguished career, including her return to hockey from retirement and the leadership she contributed towards the first @whl_ru championship for the @kunlunredstar! Big Liu recently accomplished a major feat, playing in her 100th game with the Vanke Rays’ organization (along with fellow 100th gamer, follower and nicest person ever, @leahlum)! Best of luck to Big Liu on the current season and the 2022 Olympics!

Prior bio: Zhixin Liu @liuzhixin6 - 

1. Zhixin is a big, Chinese defender from Qiqihar. 

2. She was a fixture on the Chinese women’s national teams from 2009 through 2016, winning 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal in World Championship tournaments. 

3. With women’s hockey not developing very quickly in China, Zhixin briefly retired from hockey in 2016. 

4. When the CWHL came to China, Zhixin said she “cried happy tears” and returned to hockey to play for the @kunlunredstar. 

5. In 2019-2020, she helped the Vanke Rays win their first @whl_ru championship as an assistant captain. Given her experience on the international stage, she will also certainly be a lock for the 2022 Olympics.
